Please Remember, , stretching is an extremely important part of exercise. No matter whether you are lifting weights, playing basketball, volleyball, or doing aerobics without stretching you may cause some serious injury. You could possible tear ligaments, sprain muscles, or permanentally damage some part of your body.



There are numerous stretches for virtually every part of the body.

STANDING TOE TOUCH
This one is pretty self explainatory and most everyone knows how to do it. Stand with the heels together and without bending the knees, touch your toes.

ARM PULL ACROSS CHEST
Just pull your arm across your chest as the name states. This will stretch out the pectorial region of the body.

SPINE TWIST
This can be painful if performed in the wrong manner. You sit on the ground with one leg straight and the other crossed over that one. Then reach around your back and twist your entire spine. This helps to prevent certain back injuries.

QUAD STRETCH
A good way to stretch out the quadraceps is just to take one leg and bend it up with your hand to where your heel touches near your backside. This will stretch out the muscles in the thighs.



Be sure to incorporate stretching into your workout.
